Food is the fuel of the biological world. Food items can be crafted by submitting the proper ingredients with a recipe. Food items can also be found in shops and on expeditions, and is required as rations to send characters on expeditions. 

Ingredients are edible items that can be combined to make food. They can be found in shops, dailies, pet drops, expeditions, and from foraging. 

Ingredients require a recipe to cook into food. 

Junk items are exactly as they sound... Junk! They don't have much purpose but can be sold from your inventory for credits. They may occasionally be asked for by NPCs for missions.
