Traits

Plasma flux

Plasma flux (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

This affliction gives the effect of fire or electricity on a djubetos's tail and body. It's caused when a djubetos is exposed to a tremendous amount of energy at once, be this heat, electricity, or something else. The excess energy will pool in the djubetos's tail and tear through the membrane, causing irreversible damage. Over time, this hole will continue to degrade as the djuebtos uses the tail,  causing the inner plasma to leak out, causing a fire or electricity effect in the tail. If the divider between the tail and body becomes damaged, plasma may leak out of body parts as well.

The end stage of this affliction is complete loss of tail membrane, giving the effect of a fire or smoke tail.

This condition differs from a tail injury, as most tail injuries will heal over time. Plasma flux is when the amount of energy escaping the tail is so excess that the membrane can no longer heal.

Djubetos with a severe enough case of this affliction will struggle to survive in open space as their body uses tremendous amounts of energy to keep up with the energy escaping from exposed tail plasma. They will also have difficulty regulating body temperature as raw plasma leaks into their main body from the tail.

Obtainable via the Photon reactor core item.

Husk Parasitosis (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

The djubetos is infected by a parasite known as a Huskworm. This worm kills the djubetos and merges with the heartbrain, which in turn combines its consciousness with the remaining traces of its victim's, creating a new identity.

Obtainable via huskworm larva item.

Licorice Hexum (Uncommon)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

High blood sugar results in sugary growths on the body as the immune system tries to expel excess glucose. These growths typically take the shape (and flavor) of various candies and sweets such as hard candy, chocolate, cookies, and even whipped cream or icing.

These growths cannot fully replace body parts without an additional trait such as odd tail, odd horns, etc.

Obtainable via the glucose medley item.

Lycoperdontis Mist (Uncommon)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

Infection of the lycoperdontis puffball mushroom causes clouds of spores to leak from orifices, wounds, or even patches of skin. This behaves like mist or smoke and can be any color.

This mist cannot replace body parts such as the tail or horns and can only float around the body or leak out.

Obtainable via the vial pod item.

Cordinanis Spores (Rare)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

Consumption of the cordinanis mushroom causes plant and fungal growth to grow across the body. These plants may or may not stray from Earth biology, and may appear inside and outside of the body.

Obtainable via the odd mushroom item.

Polycephalic Amalgamation (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Anomalous subtype)

A djubetos is born as a set of fused twins. May include up to two additional appendages (not heads) that do not belong to either twin in addition to a set of appendages that belongs to each twin.
Obtainable via Breeding Affliction.

Paralarval Countenance (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Anomalous subtype)

The face never developed, leaving a djubetos with the skeletal face of a paralarva permanently. The face may have bone, or gooey exposed muscle. The tail may be underdeveloped (weak bones) and the skin can be any shade of purple, blue, gray, or a normal human skin tone. Djubetos with this defect tend to be incredibly aggressive.

Obtainable via Breeding Affliction.

Nanite Infection (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Anomalous subtype)

The infection of a djubetos egg by a nanomachine virus that converts the developing oaraleva's flesh to machine. Depending on the time of infection, the hatched djubetos's condition could range from ball joints, to a flesh covered android, to being fully robotic, inside and out.
Obtainable via Breeding Affliction.

DIV (Djubetos Immunodeficiency Virus) (Rare)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

A chronic condition caused by a djubetos-specific virus. This virus is transmittable by blood and runs rampant in the cannibalistic gourmet circles tucked away deep in the heart of Pandora. This virus prevents djubetos wounds from healing, and victims of this disease are often held together with stitches.

Obtainable via the Infected Ichor item.

Lich Metamorphosis (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

Congratulations, your djubetos is now a corpse. The skin color may turn gray or even have a greenish tinge to it, and large cavities of rot may appear on the body, exposing bone or organs.
Obtainablw via the Rotted Sample item.

Prionic Infection (Rare)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

It's rabies, guys... it's just rabies,,,

This disease does not kill the host, but causes them to have occasional episodes of delirium and aggression. Eyes may or may not turn a single blank color during flareups.

Obtainable via Cerebral Fluid item.

Digital Transcendance (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

A djubetos has fully uploaded themselves, body and mind, to technology. Their body now appears as a hologram and they can "jump" into screens to enter the digital world.

Obtainable via Master Computer Keycard item.

Rift horns (Mythical)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Anomalous subtype)

The djubetos is born with vesushikain crystals (photons) embedded inside their horns. This allows for them to manipulate qikkain (the radiation from a djubetos's tail) to control the elements with practice. These horns also allow the djubetos to engage in parallel jumping - opening a wormhole and traveling between other dimensions.

This is a lore bound trait and is not obtainable via ordinary gameplay.

Unstable Actuality (Scarce)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Mutated subtype)

This djubetos's very existence has been corrupted by a fracture in the dimensional wall, causing them to "glitch", with cracks and shimmers of wormhole crossing over their body on occasion, appearing as a glitch effect.

Cationic ataxia (Rare)

Category: Afflictions
Species: Djubetos (Anomalous subtype)

A debilitating condition in which a djubetos is born without acid. Djubetos with this condition cannot survive as spacebounds as they are unable to digest food without stomach acid supplements. The skin on their forearms is prone to tearing without the protective acid coating, and these djubetos are more susceptible to limerot and other illnesses.

This is a breeding defect, but may also be obtained via Antacid injections.
